Bubble level, protractor & RV leveler

Privacy Policy

The short version

LevelCue works entirely on your iPhone. Your readings, calibration and settings never leave it. The App has no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking, and it makes no network connections of its own. The camera is used only for the live protractor view, and nothing it sees is recorded or saved.

Overview

This policy explains how Buknal Enterprise LLC ("we," "us") handles information in the LevelCue: Level Tool & Angle iPhone app and its Control Center and Action button control (together, "the App"). It applies only to the App, not to other apps we publish or to websites we don't operate.

LevelCue has no user accounts. You don't register, and you don't give us a name, an email address, or a password to use it. We don't sell personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.

What stays on your device

The App saves a small amount of information in its own storage on your iPhone so it works the way you left it:

  • Saved readings: the angle, the kind of reading (surface, edge, RV or camera), the time you saved it, and the name you give it, if any;
  • Calibration for surface and edge readings, which corrects for your phone and case;
  • Your RV's length and width, if you enter them in RV mode;
  • Settings, such as the angle unit, how close counts as level, haptics, appearance, and whether you've finished the welcome screens;
  • Which in-app tips you've already seen.

None of this is uploaded to us or synced to iCloud. If your iPhone is backed up to iCloud or a computer, iOS includes the App's storage in that backup, which is controlled by you and Apple.

Motion sensors

The level reads your iPhone's motion sensors to work out how it's tilted. The readings are used live, on the device, to draw the level and play its haptic tap and tone. They aren't stored unless you tap Save, and they're never sent anywhere. The App doesn't use motion data to count steps, track activity, or work out where you are.

The camera

The camera protractor and plumb line show the live view from your iPhone's back camera with an angle overlay on top. iOS asks for your permission the first time you open them. The App does not take photos, record video, or save any image, and nothing from the camera leaves your iPhone. If you save a camera reading, only the angle is kept.

The App doesn't use the microphone and doesn't ask for access to it. You can turn camera access off at any time in Settings → Apps → LevelCue. The rest of the App keeps working without it.

Action button and Control Center

The App's control opens LevelCue straight to the level. It doesn't show or store any of your data and doesn't connect to the internet.

What we don't collect

The App contains no analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising software, and it doesn't use tracking identifiers. Specifically, the App does not collect or request:

  • Your location;
  • Access to your microphone, photos, contacts, or calendar;
  • Usage statistics about which features you use;
  • Device identifiers for tracking you across apps or websites.

Apple separately lets you share crash and usage reports with app developers under Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements. If you turn that on, Apple may provide us aggregated, anonymous crash reports. You can turn it off at any time.

LevelCue Pro and free tries

LevelCue Pro is a one-time in-app purchase made through Apple. Apple handles payment and tells the App only whether Pro is unlocked on your Apple Account. We never receive your name, email address, or payment details.

You can try the camera tools and the RV wheel inches once each for free. To keep a free try from coming back, the App records which tries you've used in your iPhone's Keychain. That record contains nothing else, stays on your device, and is never sent to us.

Apple services

The App is distributed through the App Store, and downloads, purchases, Family Sharing, and refunds are handled by Apple. Apple processes that information under the Apple Privacy Policy. The App uses no other third-party services.

Deleting your data

Because the App's information lives on your iPhone, you control it directly. You can delete individual saved readings in the App, and reset calibration in Settings. Delete the App to remove everything else it stored on that iPhone.

One small exception: iOS keeps Keychain items after an app is deleted, so the record of which free tries you've used stays on that iPhone. It holds no personal information. Erasing the iPhone removes it.

Support emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your request and keep a record of it. Ask us and we'll delete your correspondence.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing, under laws such as the GDPR in Europe and the UK, and the CCPA/CPRA in California.

We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by these laws. Because the App collects nothing that identifies you, the only personal information we might hold is an email you sent us. Write to us and we'll respond within the time the applicable law requires.

Children's privacy

LevelCue collects no personal information from anyone, including children. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has emailed us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Information stored by the App is protected by iOS and by your device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID. No method of storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App changes. If a future version begins collecting any information, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy label before that version is released. The revised policy takes effect when posted on this page, with a new "Last updated" date above.
